Alon Fowler
Alon obtained a B.Comm Degree majoring in Finance & Economics in 1994. He started his career working in the the Financial Services arena at a start-up Financial Services Provider offering products and services to the property industry.
Thereafter Alon initiated his first foray into the world of application architecture, business requirements definition, business & process analysis and system design when he was employed as a Analyst at Rubico (Pty) Ltd. It was here that his exposure and fascination with BPM, UML and design methodologies began. A quick fire 5 years later and Alon joined first Nedbank and then Standard Bank. At these organisations he refined his knowledge of the financial services across both the retail and wholesale domains. In his tenure at both institutions he was always involved in Business Process Management, Business Analysis and application system design and was involved in multiple application system implementations and enhancements. Alon fulfilled management roles at both these financial institutions and managed teams both in South Africa and in the UK which where responsible for the ongoing support and development of the bank’s application system architectures.
By the time 2007 rolled by, Alon, significantly wiser, somewhat balder and a touch fatter joined Anthony Stewart in starting up ModusBPS. Soon thereafter ModusBPS management team was enhanced as Mike Mackay became a partner in the company and under this teams stewardship, ModusBPS has enjoyed ongoing success.
Alon has participated in all the large scale and strategic projects delivered by ModusBPS over the last 5 years. He spent 2 years in the UAE delivering the Al Naboodah system and process implementation project. Upon his return to RSA he provided input on various projects at ABSA. The last 2 years Alon has fulfilled the role of Business Process Programme Manager for the Eskom Back to Basics programme. Alon shares his time at ModusBPS between the general management of the business and getting involved in specific projects with ModusBPS's customers.
