SYSPRO
Time sure flies.
It seems like yesterday that SYSPRO (www.syspro.com/) accepted a Proof of Concept to develop a customised Model Driven Process Architecture, called Syspro Process Modeling (SPM) of the entire Syspro ERP software product.
In essence, SPM is a two-fold End-to-End process design. On the one hand, every single interaction with Syspro has been modelled (System Design). On the other hand, industry standard good practice Business Processes (much like process templates) have been designed to assist the business requirements gathering process, which is used as input into the customisation and implementation of Syspro at a client site.
The models can be used:
- to put Chaos into Context
- to assist with challenging new / re-implementations
- to help customers with major release upgrades
- as a roadmap for future changes (Protecting the Clients original investment)
- as a repository with customer specific patterns to manage change creating one source of the truth
- to document the implementation experience and as such, move the experience from individuals to a repository of documented process patterns
- to reduce resources required for an implementation by up to 40%
- to reduce the number of experienced resources required for an implementation by up to 50%
- to reduced time to delivery by 40%
- and re-used which will increasingly reduce certain resource requirements
ModusBPS has also been instrumental in the initial training phases of the SPM toolset across South Africa to many Syspro’ clients .
As a result of this gigantic effort, SYSPRO has also tasked ModusBPS to assist with the solving of business issues and problems at many of their client sites: To date, ModusBPS has been on many of these sites to assist in the development, design and maintenance of their business process. In most cases, processes where developed from Level 1 to Level 4 or 5 (Enterprise wide to Activity based)
